Course Content: The introductory Workshop is a 4-hour self defense workshop that develops the foundation for fighting full force in an adrenaline state. The workshop establishes the mindset for fighting and overcoming inhibitions about self-protection. The Five Principles of Self Defense and Four General Options for Women are also described. This introductory class applies the physical skills in full-force fights against a padded attacker from a rear attack.
Adrenal Stress Training – Model Mugging utilizes adrenaline stress training – the ability to channel the fear that comes with attack which often causes you to freeze, turn it into anger and unleash it to immobilize your assailant. Muscle memory, the state where our bodies are able to learn actions and then perform them without thought, is the foundation of the physical portion of the Model Mugging Self Defense System.
Full Force Fighting – The “padded assailant” models various types of criminals attacking each student in a realistic but safe manner. Women learn to strike the “padded assailant” with full power and without limitations or rules needed in combative sports – fights in class become just like on the streets. The fighting techniques will be performed through scientifically proven methods of repetition and then applied in real fights where the experience of stress and coaching lock the movements into the body’s subconscious reflexive memory.
Winning without Fighting – Model Mugging women’s self-defense classes teach women to focus on winning without fighting. Although knowing how to fight is a critical aspect of the self-protection recipe for winning without fighting, the best self-defense is having the knowledge and experience in avoiding those common conditions that assailants find attractive when they chose to attack others.
